On Tuesday August 9th. Jessie Springborn's bigger-than-life heart ceased to beat.
Jessie was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah by Ernest B. Rees Sr. and Jessie Mitchell Rees.
Jessie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Utah, and a Masters at the University of the Pacific in Stockton California.
She was a life-long educator of 49 years, and taught in Utah, Colorado, Washington, California, and in Yorkshire England on a Fulbright exchange program.
Most of Jessie's career was spent in Stockton California at Martin Van Buren, and Kohl elementary schools, Delta Community College as a bilingual specialist, and at the end of her career, at the University of the Pacific as a paraprofessional in the teacher training program.
Some of the many organizations Jessie belonged to and volunteered with were:
Central Labor Council of San Joaquin
America Federation of Teachers
Democratic Women's Club
Stockton Animal Shelter Friends
Universal Unitarian Church
American Association of University Women
And her Forever Friends Club
Jessie's genuine warmth and generosity will be missed by many especially her daughter, Nori Springborn-Lira (Bob)
Her beloved nephews, Michael Rees (Eva), Shawn Rees (Jan) and their children.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, and dear brothers E.D. Flemming, Ernest B. Rees Jr. (Lorna), Ex-husband Wade Springborn, and her son, Todd W. Springborn.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Garden Oaks assisted living at O'Connor Woods of Stockton.
A celebration of life will be at 10am on Friday September 9th. at the First Universalist Unitarian church of Stockton, 2737 Pacific Avenue
