Communications Policy

(Approved by the Board of Trustees December 8, 2010)

Any church staff member or group leader may create or edit public communications (including but not limited to web pages, brochures, and press releases) related to their area of responsibility. However, new publications or major revisions to current publications must be approved by the minister and/or appropriate church committee prior to publication. Examples of new publications and major revisions include, but are not limited to:  books or pamphlets, changes in prices charged for rental space, introduction of a new page on the church web site, introduction of a new service offered to the public by the church, any changes to the bylaws.  If in doubt whether the revision is a “major change,” the person/group responsible for updates should seek approval.  It is incumbent upon the minister and church committees to respond in a timely manner to such requests.  The Board of Trustees reserves the right to review or reject any revisions to public communications.
